Scholarship Listing

It is my advice that SENIORS should start applying for the colleges of their interest NOW so by DECEMBER they can be closer to their decision making..... 2nd Semester should be used in making final preparation for that college of your choice.... LESS STRESS!!!!!! Ms. Angie

12th Grade – College Applications - Now is a great time to get started on your college applications! Below is info that may be helpful!
• Requesting transcripts – Every college application needs a transcript from the high school. Request your transcript from your school’s Registrar and please let the Registrar know the e-mail address where your transcript needs to be sent.

• Where can I find the application for a college?

o   ALL colleges - Go to the specific college website and look for “Apply Now” or “Admissions”. You will need to create an account in order to apply. Keep up with your username and password!

o   The Common Application – What is the Common App and Who should use it? The Common App is not for every college, and there are pros and cons to using it! Please carefully consider all the options before you use this application. For some students, it’s necessary. For some students, it’s more complicated than you need! It all depends on what colleges you are applying to! Learn more at  www.commonapp.org.  Here’s a link to a video from the College Counselors explaining more about the Common App - https://livestream.com/etv/events/6698303/videos/232375205

o   The Common Black College Application – The Common Black College Application is one application that goes to over 60 HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). This application is free through August – www.commonblackcollegeapp.com. If you are interested in applying through this application, see your Senior Counselor or College Counselor to get the free code.
