Every Child needs Someone…

Sponsorship tells a child that you believe in them and their potential to be successful at whatever activity they pursue. 

1 Scholar + 1 Sponsor is an effective sponsorship tool to create paths for youth to obtain financial and educational assistance to participate in extra-curricular activities; circumventing feelings of isolation, and, exclusion from activities by peers. 

Your gift, along with those of other sponsors, will tailor to the essential needs 

of our Madison County, Alabama scholars, athletes, musicians, actors, and others!

Being able to celebrate the joyous occasions to assist deserving youth results in tangible changes to the hearts, lives, and outcomes of these youth.  In some of these youthful scholars’ lives, sadly, there have been too few reasons to celebrate. Won’t you join us in our commitment to change these students’ outcomes?

How much does it cost to sponsor a scholar?  

The cost to sponsor a scholar depends on the scholar's financial need, and, amount of unpaid obligation.

Are there set amounts required to sponsor scholars?  

There is no set amount to sponsor a scholar; any donation of any size would be most helpful to our cause. 

What scholars are these funds supporting? 

ScholarAid is pleased to use all donations we receive to assist enrolled students, ages 4-18, of Madison County, Madison City, and Huntsville City school systems; including students enrolled in private institutions, and homebased instruction.*

What fees would qualify for ScholarAid’s support? There are various fees that would meet criteria for our support; contact ScholarAid, or, visit the ScholarAid website at www.scholaraid4youth.org for more information. Basketball: $80

What documents should accompany my ScholarAid application? 

Beside a completed application, the requestor should include: itemized printout of fees from school counselor or athletic director, or, the organization’s letterhead, providing documentation of fees from head coach with authorizing signature.

What are the steps taken to be considered for financial assistance? 

Requestor applying for assistance will undergo a 30-minute consultation. During that consultation, a ScholarAid designee will collect all required documents, then, review and consult with ScholarAid Board members. Afterward, as a decision is made, ScholarAid representatives will make copies of all relevant documents submitted, then, the candidate will submit his / her portion of the financial obligation; as agreed upon by the candidate / requestor and ScholarAid representative. Each candidate / requestor, if eligible and approved for assistance, will have a designated file and, record of request and award to be retained by the ScholarAid organization. All copies become property of ScholarAid, Inc., and will be used solely for the purpose intended, and maintained under strict confidentiality. 

What is the ‘turn around’ time for fee payments to be remitted to the school or organization? After all required resources have been received and processed, the payment will be submitted by a ScholarAid representative directly to the school, league, or organization within 48 hours. 

Please allow appropriate time for fee submission in accordance with the 48 hour window. 

Are scholars able to receive assistance more than once? 

Mentorship will be available to help scholars and parents meet all requirements beyond funds provided by ScholarAid.  If for some reason a scholar needs additional assistance with a different extra-curricular activity, consideration will be made by ScholarAid personnel, subject to guidelines and stipulations listed above. Additional ScholarAid assistance would be considered on a case-by-case basis, and, as resources are available.
